A third person, Ebony Rochelle Black, 22, no permanent address, has pled guilty in the Jan. 20 armed robbery at the AmericInn Inn Hotel in Hastings. On Tuesday, March 22, Black entered the guilty plea to an amended charge of simple robbery (aid and abet). Her sentencing date is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3.
A Hastings man pled guilty Monday to fraud in a ticket-fixing case.
Abdulkadir Afrah, 43, is a former senior clerk of court for the State of Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District. He pleaded guilty to failing to provide the state and its citizens honest services by improperly dismissing traffic citations and pocketing associated funds.
Hastings Police have charged Jerri Lynn Pachan, 29, Hastings, with one count of financial transaction card fraud (aggregated) in connection with the use of another person’s credit card at different retail locations in Hastings.
The second suspect charged in the Jan. 20 armed robbery of the AmericInn Hotel and Suites in Hastings pleaded guilty to first degree robbery Monday, March 15, in Dakota County District Court. Judge David Knutson set sentencing for Michael Anthony Dziubak, 21, for 1:30 p.m. May 10.
The Dakota County court proceedings involving Hastings Police Officer Rene Doffing continue. A pretrial was held before Judge Thomas Poch Tuesday, March 15, in the court facility in West St. Paul. It was continued to 1 p.m. Monday, April 20, also in West St. Paul.
Few people in Hastings live closer to Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings than Alan Gaylor and his family. With the library literally across the street from their residence, his sons spend much of their free time at the library, and Saturday was no different.
But in the afternoon, as his oldest son left the library, he noticed something he’d never seen before. Police officers. And lots of them.
The officers were there to take a fugitive into custody and, within minutes, they’d done just that.
The Dakota County Drug Task Force has charged Melissa Monica Maher, 33, Hastings, with one count of controlled substance crime in the fifth degree, two counts of third-degree driving while impaired, and one count of fourth-degree driving while impaired following a Nov. 13 traffic stop in Hastings.
A 30-year-old Rochester woman, Kyra Larae Lindsey, has been changed with four counts of criminal vehicular operation, one count of child endangerment, and one count of third-degree driving while impaired (DWI) in connection with a crash on Highway 52, near Hampton, at about 2:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28. At the time, she had her five children, all younger than 10, in the vehicle. Four of the children suffered injuries.
A 24-year-old Hastings woman, Sara Lynn Foster, faces one felony charge of criminal vehicular operation after a July 29 accident in Hastings. According to the criminal complaint filed in the Dakota County Attorney’s office, Hastings Police were called to the area of Voyager Parkway and Yellowstone Drive in Hastings. When officers arrived, they observed a male, lying face down. He was unconscious and unresponsive.
Drugs found in the underwear of a patient at Regina Medical Center in November have resulted in three charges against Rachel Lynn Campbell, 32, of St. Paul. She was charged with a controlled substance crime in the fifth degree and one charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
